What is Space for Humanity
Space for Humanity is an organization whose mission is to expand access to space and promote a culture of interconnectedness on Earth. In this article, explore the role of Space for Humanity in helping us to understand our unique place in the cosmos and what it really means to be human. We also examine the Into the Stars campaign’s impact in terms of collaboration and fundraising.
The Into the Stars campaign is part of Space for Humanity’s fundraising arm.
Space for Humanity relies on the generous support of its patrons to help fulfil its key objectives, namely: expanding access to space travel; inspiring and training future leaders; and cultivating a societal shift towards increased harmony.
In 2019, Space for Humanity enjoyed several significant successes, including: creating scores of alliances, including 14 official partnerships; publishing content in more than 30 different languages; receiving 3,700 Citizen Astronaut Applications from residents of more than 100 nations; sponsoring and hosting 10 events; and participating in more than 30 events held across the US, UK, Africa, Latin America, and Russia.
In order for these successes to continue, the organization needs to continue to build upon its already broad base of support. Fortunately, there are numerous ways to accomplish this mission, as the Into the Stars campaign makes clear.
Patrons can support Space for Humanity in several ways.
Donors may subscribe to monthly membership, pledge a one-time donation, or make a legacy gift. In doing so, sponsors become eligible to receive gifts in recognition of their generous donation. Some supporters opt to make a tribute gift as a way of marking a significant event, recognizing someone special, or commemorating a particular milestone.
Additionally, Space for Humanity recently partnered with Amazon Smile. By selecting Space for Humanity as their charity of choice, Amazon buyers can contribute towards the Space for Humanity mission every time they make a purchase.
Donors can directly support specific missions.
Supporters may give directly to Space for Humanity’s Leadership Training Program; Team Support and Operations; or the Fund a Citizen Astronaut Mission. Patrons who wish to support a specific program are invited to contact Space for Humanity directly, for individual assistance. Social media influencers and brand sponsors are also invited to get in touch to find out more about how they can support Space for Humanity and its various missions.
Space for Humanity recently announced plans to open up its fundraising team, inviting individuals and organizations to join, support missions, and spread awareness. Supporters will be invited to set up their own personal fundraising page on the Space for Humanity website, where they can add their own voice, dedicate an anniversary or birthday fundraiser, or start their own charity fundraising adventure. Further details are expected to be announced in the near future.

Space for Humanity Leadership
Dylan Taylor, Space for Humanity’s founder, presides over its Board of Directors. Dylan Taylor is a philanthropist and global business leader, and a pioneer of the space exploration industry. As CEO of Voyager Space Holdings, he leads a global organization specializing in acquiring space exploration enterprises.
Rachel Lyons serves as Space for Humanity’s Executive Director. A key advocate in space exploration and technology, she is the former Vice-Chair of Students for the Exploration and Development of Space USA, a non-profit organization that empowers young people to pursue their dreams in the field of space exploration.
Space for Humanity believes in the power of collaboration.
The organization partners with various corporate and non-profit entities, pooling resources, efforts, skills, and platforms of influence. Space for Humanity has partnered with numerous global organizations and brands over the years, including: Space in Africa, Apogeo Spacial, AIAA, Arch Mission, Casis, Astronomers Without Borders, New Space, Space Frontier Foundation, New Worlds Institute, Space Station Explorers, Space Generation Advisory Council, The Overview Institute, and World Space Week.
